Scope of Work: The following is an extract from the method statement submitted to Chiltern Trains following the issue of a Purchase Order to carry out Testing, Surveying and Design of a new Power Supply to Tenants Unit and Associated Design Works to bring the existing installation in line with BS7671
Testing, Survey and Design:
Conduct an Electrical Test and Inspection of the existing installation and produce a report in line with Network Rail Buildings, Stations and Depots Engineering Policy RT/ENGP/06/12 for Electrical Testing and Inspection in Operational Property. During the electrical testing, a clamp on ammeter will be used to conduct a spot load test of every circuit connected to the distribution board. This will include Live and Neutral cables and will be detailed within the report. A portable energy monitor (Sinergy e-tracker Mk2) will be connected to the main incoming supply for the station to monitor the load. This will utilise wrap around CT’s and will not require the station to be shut down. The monitor will be set to record at 15 minute intervals for a period of 14 days. A report of the results will be produced detailing the maximum demand for the station and will give a visual interpretation in graph form of what load is being drawn at what time during the day and on which phase. A complete survey of the existing electrical supplies will be conducted; Station Layout Drawings and Schematics produced detailing the existing electrical system. A new design will be submitted for approval detailing cable routes, containment, distribution, small power, and associated items for the proposed new system / alterations. The new system to be designed to all current and relevant British and Network Rail Standards. The design will detail cable calculations and drawings suitable for Network Rail landlord’s approval process. This will not be suitable for Network Rail Form EA / EB although it is not believed that this will be a requirement. Following submission and approval of the design, Chiltern Trains then issued us with a further Purchase Order to carry out the installation work proposed.
